Thank you Jessica!
Fireside Chat and Panem Radio joined together with Hunger Games DWTC for a celebration of the one year anniversary of the Mockingjay release! They want you to participate in this celebration with two Facebook polls on your favorite moment and most heartbreaking moment in Mockingjay! (make sure you “LIKE” them on your Facebook page) And that’s not all….. They have giveaways as well!!!!
So, by now, hopefully you’ve voted in the Favorite MockingjayMoment poll here at our Facebook page! Please don’t forget to also vote for the Most Heartbreaking Mockingjay Moment over at Panem Radio’s Facebook page. The results of these polls will be shared this Friday during a special 6-hour Mockingjayanniversary program (6pm – midnight ET) on Panem Radio (http://www.panemradio.com).
Because the devoted members of this fandom are the ones who have made Mockingjay and the rest of the trilogy such a success, we want all of you to be an integral part of this celebration as well! We want you to submit — in written form OR audio form (mp3 format) — YOUR personalMockingjay stories:
- Where you were for the midnight release
- How the book and series as a whole have affected you or changed your life
- Your pre-Mockingjay theories (were you right?)
- Letters or messages of thanks to Suzanne Collins
- IN-CHARACTER messages to Katniss, thanking her for becoming the Mockingjay (have some fun with that one!)
We’d also LOVE for you to submit Mockingjay-related songs (in mp3 format), poetry or short fiction (up to 500 words). All of your content will be either played (if audio is submitted) or read LIVE on the air on Panem Radio this Friday.
SEND ALL SUBMISSIONS TO [email protected]! There’s no real deadline, just try to get everything in to us by Friday morning!

Here’s the Mockingjay pin that was given out at Comic-Con last week for The Hunger Games at the Lionsgate booth!
Lionsgate has a special treat for fans of Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games at their comic-con booth. Today, they’ll be distributing replicas of Katniss’ mockingjay pin from the upcoming film adaptation.
Why didn’t I go to Comic-Con??? Love the Mockingjay pin!
Lionsgate executives told Wall Street analysts this morning to expect big things from The Hunger Games, a series of four action films that the studio will release from the trilogy written by Suzanne Collins. COO Joe Drake said it was “the highest selling film we’ve ever had” at the Cannes Film Festival and that overseas exhibitors consider it “the movie that can change their company.” Although Lionsgate wouldn’t disclose its budget for the films, Drake says Hunger Games could become an “outsized success” for Lionsgate. The studio says it bought the rights before the books became runaway best-sellers, and it has “retained the majority of the upside” in its talent and distribution deals.
Four action films? I wouldn’t have thought four, but that’s fine with me!! I just don’t want to wait long in between the films. I’m too impatient.
Expect huge success from The Hunger Games, Lionsgate!
Your thoughts? Where do you think each movie will start and end?
Update from LMCullen: I’ve heard talks of a prequel .. what are your thoughts on this? Let us know in the comments section!
