Arcade Fire
Arcade Fire Created the National Anthem of Panem!
Arcade Fire has contributed not only “Abraham’s Daughter” to the The Hunger Games soundtrack, which you can listen to now, but also composed the Capitol anthem “Horn of Plenty” for the score-
“We were interested in making music that would be more integral in the movie, just as a mental exercise,” Butler explained. “And there’s an anthem that runs throughout the books, the national anthem of the fascist Capitol. So as a thought experiment, we tried to write what that might sound like. It’s like the Capitol’s idea of itself, basically.”
“It’s not a pop song or anything,” he added. “More of an anthem that could be playing at a big sporting event like the Games. So we did a structure for that, and then James Newton Howard made a movie-score version of it that happens in several places in the film.”

Arcade Fire “Abraham’s Daughter” from Soundtrack, Listen Now!
Rolling Stone has heard the Arcade Fire track from The Hunger Games soundtrack, and it sounds amazing:
“Arcade Fire’s Fight Song – ‘Abraham’s Daughter’
Count on Arcade Fire to throw a funeral at the multiplex. Their haunting, cathedral-huge battle hymn for Hunger Games updates a Civil War-era song about volunteers giving their lives for the Union, adding a ghost-children chorale led by Régine Chassagne, a martial pulse and lyrics about “angels crying for the slaughter.” It’s some of the starkest, and creepiest, music the band has ever made – chamber rock strewn with black bunting and dipped in goth war paint.”
UPDATE: You can now listen to the track, which will be the closing credits song, courtesy EW!
