Hunger Games Parody
Sometimes movies just don’t finish the way we’d like. For the most part, fans enjoyed the conclusion to the “Hunger Games” film. Still, many of us wonder – what if it had ended differently? For HISHE animators Daniel Baxter and Tommy Watson, just contemplating is not enough. They create parody videos of alternate endings to some of the most well-known movies, like “Harry Potter,” “Avatar” and “Star Wars.” Check out their spoof of our favorite 2012 movie and tell us what you think!

The amazingly talented people over at The Hillywood Show have put together a hilarious The Hunger Games parody featuring Ceasar Flickerman and the Tributes during the interview process!
Hilly Hindy did a fabulous job as Ceasar!! She really embodied the character.
If you are unfamiliar with The Hillywood Show’s work, you need to check out their YouTube channel!
Check out this hipster-ized of ‘The Hunger Games’ trailer.
I don’t know if it is actually funny if you’re not familiar with hipsters. Personally, being from an area where they are prevalent I found parts of it quite amusing like the raw diet and fake glasses scenes. What do you think? Would a Hipster ‘Hunger Games’ be a hit or a miss?
Check out this funny short written by, and featuring, Alice Moran and Adam Cawley from The Second City Network . It spoofs Katniss and Gale’s last moments together before she has to leave for The Capitol. Note: some of the themes in the video might be too mature for the youngest ‘Hunger Games’ fans:
I had previously seen a few of The Second City Network’s other shorts about Harry Potter and Twilight, and I’m really glad they have added The Hunger Games to their repertoire. What do you think of the short? Do you hope they do more?

Though I don’t remember where, I recently read someone’s comment wondering why there wasn’t a Hunger Games parody of Lana Del Rey’s “Video Games” and I thought to myself “Yea, good point. Why isn’t there a parody?”. Lo and behold today I come across this video that was posted yesterday of Second City’s Holly Laurent doing a pretty good Lana Del Rey impression. How lucky is that!
I think my favorite lyric from this would have to be “A pita is a pouch of bread, but that’s his name”. As always, what do you think of this parody? Do you have a favorite lyric?

Check out this Hunger Games parody of Grenade by Bruno Mars, BUT WARNING IT CONTAINS SPOILERS!! So if you haven’t read all three books in the Hunger Games Trilogy you might not want to watch this video.
The lyrics are by The Maynard Triplets, who have done other parodies before, and features Mandy in the video doing the vocals. And once again *** WARNING VIDEO CONTAINS SPOILERS***
The lyrics are pretty silly, which is the point, but I’m pretty impressed about how many details of the book they were able to work into the lyrics. Fully lyrics and a link to actually download the song are in the video’s description on YouTube found here. What do you think of the parody? Can you come up with your own parody?

Slated for release in February, The Hunger Pains: A Parody will take the next crack at making light of The Hunger Games and its diverse characters. Penned by The Harvard Lampoon, the book is available for pre-order on Amazon and will be available in paperback and Kindle edition. The synopsis from Amazon shows just a glimpse of what fans can expect:
“WINNING MEANS WEALTH, FAME, AND A LIFE OF THERAPY LOSING MEANS DEATH, BUT ALSO FAME! THIS IS THE HUNGER PAINS
When Kantkiss Neverclean replaces her sister as a contestant on the Hunger Games—the second-highest-rated reality TV show in Peaceland, behind Extreme Home Makeover—she has no idea what to expect. Having lived her entire life in the telemarketing district’s worst neighborhood, the Crack, Kantkiss feels unprepared to fight to the death while simultaneously winking and looking adorable for the cameras. But when her survival rests on choosing between the dreamy hunk from home, Carol Handsomestein, or the doughy klutz, Pita Malarkey, Kantkiss discovers that the toughest conflicts may not be found on the battlefield but in her own heart . . . which is unfortunately on a battlefield.”
This is not The Harvard Lampoon’s first parody of a bestseller. A comical retelling of Twilight (Nightlight), and Lord of the Rings (Bored of the Rings) have also been released under the name. So will this newest mock-heroic be on your wish list?
With all the buzz about the Capitol Colours nail polish it is no surprise that the folks who brought us The Hunger But Mainly Death Games parody book has also developed their own Hunger Games nail polish line. What do you think of their nail polish version?
When we heard that Lionsgate was releasing a Hunger Games nail polish line, we were…confused? Of course, we knew that the books becoming a movie franchise would lead to a merchandise onslaught like no other. But were we the only ones who had hoped it would go a bit more in the “sick-bows-and-arrows-and-squirrel-meat-Lunchables” direction?
That’s why we’ve decided to release our very own Hunger But Mainly Death Games nail polish line. The Hunger But Mainly Death Games nail polish shows what happens when you actually base a cosmetics line on the Hunger Games. As you can see, it ain’t pretty…
Except for President Snow’s nail polish. That’s super pretty.
The Hunger But Mainly Death Games nail polish will be available March 1, from that drifter guy who lives below the bridge in your town.
Here is a new spoof of The Hunger Games trailer by Evil Iguana Production. I really find this version quite funny, I love the comedic acting from their ‘Katniss’, ‘Peeta’ and ‘Gale’. Please share your opinions in the comments, as we would love to know what the fans think!
