Bake District 11′s Crescent Bread
This week we get another original Hunger Games recipe from Schemestresses as Rachel shows us how to make the crescent shaped bread of District 11. It has a lot more ingredients than previous recipes, but don’t let that scare you because the method looks pretty simple.
For some reason I always imagined the District 11 loaves being smaller, like the size of croissants, but this recipe will make enough to share with your friends. I also like how Rachel uses honey instead of white sugar, as it makes sense that the people in District 11 might not have access to expensive refined sugar. This recipe was also entered in the Hunger Games recipe contest, and you can see all of the entries for it here.

The people of Panem can now eat, as District 11 has opened its doors for identification on The Capitol PN.
The home of food production and agriculture for the people of Panem has also revealed its poster provided by the Capitol, which features an ear of corn.
Hunger Games Casting News: Rue & Thresh Have Been Cast!
Bring on the tributes!
We received official confirmation straight from Lionsgate that the roles of District 11 tributes Rue and Thresh, have been cast: Rue will be played by Amandla Stenberg and Thresh by Dayo Okeniyi, who are both newcomers.
EW.com has some more exclusive information on the casting news -
Now, Lionsgate has set its sights on District 11: EW has confirmed exclusively that the studio has cast Hollywood newcomers Dayo Okeniyi and Amandla Stenberg as Thresh and Rue in the adaptation of the Suzanne Collins trilogy, directed by Gary Ross. Okeniyi, playing the intimidatingly strong tribute, has appeared in a short called Eyes to See and an upcoming horror film, Slew Hampshire. Stenberg, who is on board as Katniss’ arena ally Rue, has roles in the September’s Colombiana and the telefilm Taste of Romance.
The Hunger Games Official Facebook page also has an awesome feature that lists the tributes from each district. Right now it is showing Katniss, Peeta, Rue, and Thresh as they have been cast. For the other characters they have question marks placed. When the roles are cast, the page will be updated! And by the look of things they are going in order of the districts starting from 12, ending at 1. Our next casting news should be from district 10! Check it out here!
This is extremely exciting news! Amandla is exactly how I pictured Rue! Dayo looks like he will rock the role of Thresh!
