Here is the first trailer for Jennifer Lawrence’s new film the Silver Linings Playbook which will hit theaters November 21, 2012. Jennifer Lawrence shares the screen with Bradley Cooper, they also will appear in another film together, Serena, in 2013 as husband and wife. Watch the trailer above and let us know what you think. Will you go see it? This movie has two of my favorite actors so I’m definitely excited to see this one!
Life doesn’t always go according to plan. Pat Solatano has lost everything – his house, his job, and his wife. He now finds himself living back with his mother and father after spending eight months in a state institution on a plea bargain. Pat is determined to rebuild his life, remain positive and reunite with his wife, despite the challenging circumstances of their separation. All Pat’s parents want is for him to get back on his feet – and to share their family’s obsession with the Philadelphia Eagles football team. When Pat meets Tiffany, a mysterious girl with problems of her own, things get complicated. Tiffany offers to help Pat reconnect with his wife, but only if he’ll do something very important for her in return. As their deal plays out, an unexpected bond begins to form between them, and silver linings appear in both of their lives.
Our friends over at Nightlock have a new episode for us on iTunes titled Real or Not Real. They also announce an upcoming Live Show where we can all watch the movie together, just in case you needed another reason to watch The Hunger Games on DVD!
Episode 30: Real or Not Real
We announce our Live Show where you can watch the Hunger Games movie along with us on 8/19 @ 8 PM U.S. Eastern Time, at nightlockpodcast.com/live. This show covers the new casting of Mags, a Hunger Games original song, playing a quiz-game segment. In our discuss of Chapter 6 of Catching Fire some questions arise; How do weddings in the Capitol differ from our own? Why did Madge give Katniss the pin instead of somebody else? Some listener email bring up the question if Katniss’ tracker from the 74th games was ever removed, and if Snow wanted Katniss to prove to himself Katniss loved Peeta just so she would grow more attached and loving him would become a weakness? Be sure to join us August 19th for the live show!
On this joint episode between Nightlock Podcast and Rebellion Radio we discuss which actors would be best fit for the new characters in Catching Fire. This includes the highly anticipated Finnick, Johanna, Beetee, Wiress, Mags, Plutarch, as well as many others. The first ever Dark Duels, Nightlock vs. Rebellion Radio airs where we place two characters in the arena, then each podcast proves why their character would win against the other. Be sure to vote on the podcast’s two websites.

This landmark episode focus on Chapter 3 of Catching Fire where questions airsed. Would Katniss be different if she lived in the arena? Would Katniss have been weaker or stronger if her father was still alive? What type of mentor would Katniss be and how would it effect her emotionally? Would Catching Fire been better if it had an action packed start? The fan favorite segment, Dark Duels has a comeback with President Snow and Cinna fighting to the death. Listener emails are shared with insight on Francis Lawrence as the new director and celebrations in Panem.
We continue the show with analyzing Chapter 2 of Catching Fire, including if the books would have been better if *SPOILER* either Katniss or Peeta died. Some news stories includes speculation of when the DVD will be released as well as what new record the movie broke and what major movie franchise it surpassed in order to get there. In our music segment we feature a Green Day song to relate to the controlling government. A newer segment, Real or Not Real, asks the question if Panem celebrates holidays.

It looks like Francis Lawrence has been chosen by Lionsgate to be the director for the Hunger Games sequel, Catching Fire, though we are still waiting to hear if he has accepted their offer. You may recognize his work from I Am Legend and Water for Elephants. I am having high hopes for him, as I loved I Am Legend, but what do you think about Francis Lawrence directing the sequel?

Well The Hunger Games made it’s fourth week at the box office still in first place beating out Harry Potter and the Twilight series, which had a three week winning streak. Currently it stands at $531 million world-wide, domestically at $337.1 million “moving it past Spider-Man 3 for 22nd place on the list of all-time hits, and trumping all of the Twilight movies, and all but the final Harry Potter, Deathly Hallows Part 2.”

I confess that after I read The Hunger Games series I was extremely tempted to try out my spouse’s bow and arrow. Well, not surprisingly, I wasn’t the only one tempted to try out archery after the success of The Hunger Games. Check out the video on this very subject. So, have you thought about trying the bow and arrow, or have you done so already?
