Celebuzz has released a list of 10 of the actresses who auditioned for the coveted role of Katniss Everdeen. Among them: Emma Roberts, Abigail Breslin, Chloe Moretz, and Shailene Woodley. So who is your favorite of the list? Any of them you wish would have landed the role, or are you happy with Jennifer Lawrence?

At first I wanted either Saoirse Ronan or Hailee Stienfeld to star as Katniss, but after I saw the movie ‘Winter’s Bone’ I was convinced that Jennifer could pull it off.

I think that Shailene would be a good Katniss, but I like Jennifer Lawrence better since I think she can pull off Katniss’ scowls or serious face( the faces Haymitch mentions preparing her for interviews)that she has during most of the book but can have a sincere smile during heartfelt scenes.

I completely agree… Jennifer Lawrence really does have that look that can pull off those sort of killer scowls. I’m happy with her as Katniss as well.

Emma Roberts would have been a good choice, but I don’t think she could have pulled off a serious role like Jennifer Lawrence. Abigail Breslin is too young and too innocent. Chloe Moretz I think would make Katniss seem to bad ass. I don’t know that much about Shailene Woodley to make up a decision about her though.

Emma roberts and Shailene Woodley would not be able to pull it off. Abigail Breslin is too young looking and Chloe Moretz does look young to me for some reason but I think she would have been good if she were two or three years older.

I’m so glad Jennifer got it. She really has the look. I don’t think that Shailene would have been able to play her because she just does’t have the “seam” look. Jennifer excels in the aspect of “seam-ness”. She’s still beautiful though:)

Jennifer is by far the best option to me, there are a couple good actresses in that list that are in same league as her as far as skill/talent goes but I think she will pull it off the best.

Jennifer Lawrence is Katniss!! She definitely has her skills, such as archery and rock/tree climbing. I really can’t see anyone else portraying Katniss because it’s perfect for Jennifer!!

I’m happy with Jennifer Lawrence, but when I read the books I did kinda picture Emma Roberts. She’s one of my favorite actresses ever! But, like I said, I’m happy with Jennifer

I’m psyched to see Jennifer Lawrence in the roll, she can pull off all of the characters changes in all three books.

Shailene & Hailee are good but Jennifer is going to be the perfect Katniss.

Honestly, when I looked through that list, I feel like most of those ladies are too “glam.” I don’t think they would have been able to pull of “rough & tough” like Jennifer Lawrence. In my opinion, she is the perfect Katniss; she can show that grit that the movie requires while not turning it into “bad-ass-ness.”

I couldn’t imagine Jennifer as Katniss at all at first, and I guess I wanted to hate everyone who auditioned because I was afraid the movie would slaughter the book, but seeing her with her hair dyed and everything, I fell in love with her. She’ll do a great job, and she’s the only one I can imagine playing Katniss now.

My only problem with Jenifer is that she looks too well feed. I hope they make her look much skinnier (as in starved) when she’s in the games.

From those choices, for me,
Shailene Woodley would have been the best Katniss. Yet, I think Jennifer is probably the best Katniss overall. She owns her role in every movie I’ve seen her in, so I have high expectations that she’ll do the same with Katniss. Plus, now that we’ve gotten to see trailors and character posters, Jennifer just fits in that group. At first, I was iffy about her for Katniss, but now, I couldn’t imagine anyone else.

Katniss needed someone who is super tough and older than their years or it just wouldn’t be believable. I wasn’t sure about Jennifer Lawrence so I wanted to see Winter’s Bone just to check her out. Maybe it is because I happen to live in Missouri where the story of Winter’s Bone was set but now I couldn’t see a tougher more perfect Katniss Everdeen than Jennifer Lawrence.
