Jena Malone Offered the Role of Johanna Mason

According to The Hollywood Reporter Jena Malone has been offered the part of Johanna Mason in Catching Fire, the second installment of The Hunger Games movies.

The move nixes premature reports that pegged newbie actress-model Zoe Aggeliki as the front-runner to play the ax-wielding former Hunger Games winner from District 7, who aligns with Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) in their return to the arena for an all-star death match.

    I think she’s got the looks and the skills for it from what I remember from Sucker Punch. Johanna is described as having brown eyes, but I don’t really care. And she’s got the “GTFoutta my way or I’ll kick your @ss” look in some of the photos I’ve seen so, I hope she takes the part! :)

    I can’t stand her, she is a terrible terrible actress….reminds me ALOT of Kristen Stewart.   They need someone a little tougher for Johanna, and less monotone acting.  I PRAY someone else gets the role…anyone else. :0)

    I really don’t think she’ll be a great Johanna no offense but she doesn’t really fit the bad girl image that Johanna has. I really would’ve preffered Naya Rivera I think she would be perfect. But if Francis Lawrence and Lionsgate think she’s right for the part then I will completely trust that she is the girl for the job!

    Yeah she was good in sucker punch its one of my favorite movie but even when shes trying to act all badass she still comes off as weak and in catching fire johanna is anything but weak! The first rumor i heard of kristen bell ive always pictured her as johanna she looks like she could be weak but she could have that edge, shes an amazing actress and i think shes way better than jena who seems like shes the same in every movie….

    I am not familiar with Zoe Aggeliki’s work at all but if they pick her just based on her looks I think she would be perfect. On the other hand, I do not want jena getting it at all! she is too sweet and not a good actress! They need to find some one more badass than her

    No Johanna needs to have big puffy lips and be really super pretty I don’t support his dissition at all Kristen bell popped right into my mind I really like her as Johanna mason ☺
