Robert Pattinson NOT in the running for Finnick

Don’t fret Hunger Games fans, I can reveal that the random rumour about Robert Pattinson possibly playing Finnick Odair is definitely not true.

Whilst at Cannes to promote his new movie Cosmopolis Pattinson told USA Today:

I woke up this morning and saw all these things about me being cast in The Hunger Games. I was kind of curious for a second so I called my agent.

Pattinson added that his agent said, “No one’s going to offer you that part.” Laughing, the actor then told of his reply which was, “Thanks for the reassurance.”

I guess that this will come as good news for the majority of you who posted on the previous post with your dislike of the rumour!

Keep your Finnick suggestions coming in, I’m enjoying reading them all!

Well of course no one was gonna offer him the part. Nor would he have taken it. I can’t believe people in the last post actually thought it was a possibility! Like I said, he’s done doing roles that aren’t the lead, and he’s most likely done with big franchise, teenaged-based audience movies!

I personally would LOVE Ryan Kwanten as Finnick, for a few reasons.
1. Southern Accent: District 4 is in the south-ish area, and in CF Katniss says they have their own accent. I think its kinda obvious he can replicate this (Hello? True Blood!)

2. Tan skin. He has really great tan skin.

3. Great at being seductive (Once more. True Blood!)

4. Can dye his hair and get contacts.

Whew, that was a close one. All I could think was Nooooooo! Could you imagine Pattinson’s pasty, scrawny frame running around shirtless through most of a movie (Oh, wait…we already endured that torture once). What about a red headed version of Chris Evans (Capitan America) for the part of Finnegan? Now there is someone who fits the build.

I’m sooooooo glad that he wasn’t chosen!!! I just told some of my friends who are crazed twilight fans who hated the hunger games were like OMG I luv the hunger games now!!! if that did happen we would have a bunch of insane twilight fans showin up!!! Thank God!!!!!

It says on E!’s website that Finnick should be announced on Friday, Garrett Hedlund, Armie Hammer, and Taylor Kitsch are the top three in the running right now. I don’t knowabout you guys but I’m rooting for Garrett!

I don’t know why, but Todd Stashwick is who I immediately pictured as Finnick while reading the book. I didn’t even know his name then; I just remembered his face from an episode of a tv show and whatever character he was playing, was like Finnick and I guess that’s why my mind made that connection. Now that I’ve figured out who he is, I don’t think he would be a bad choice for the role.
